TRADE MARK FEE EARNER
Brand Protect LLP is looking for a qualified or near-qualified Trade Mark Attorney to work from its office in Oxfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist trade mark practice.
The successful applicant will enjoy considerable client facing responsibilities and will be expected to play a part in attracting new clients and developing and strengthening client relationships.
As well as a varied workload, this position also offers opportunities for rapid career development, including partnership for the right person. A competitive salary is offered.
Brand Protect LLP
As a firm, we expect a lot of enthusiasm from our small but professional team. We know that we ‘fight above our weight’ – and win.
In return we offer an excellent opportunity where you can create your own workspace, opportunities and most importantly add your own character to the company. We thrive on ideas. We love people who are lateral thinkers and who have the tenacity to complete tasks every time, on budget and within the required timeframe.
We want to attract people who are highly responsible, perfectionists and above all looking for a different environment where entrepreneurialism, enthusiasm, passion and individualism is not squashed and indeed promoted.
Skills and competences
The ideal candidate for this role would:
- be a competent and professional self starter, with an entrepreneurial approach;
- have superlative communication and persuasion skills;
- require the minimum of supervision but at the same time be a team player;
- be willing to help juniors, be hungry for responsibility; and
- above all, be self motivated and have high expectations of themselves and colleagues.
Qualifications and experience
You may be an ITMA professional, qualified by examination. Alternatively, you are a barrister who has either enjoyed pupillage at a specialist IP set or a solicitor who has worked in a larger firm and now wants the challenge of specializing.
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Hours can be flexible to suit personal needs. We measure output rather than ‘time in the office’
The role requires:
- in-depth IP knowledge, with specific and specialized trade mark knowledge including wide-ranging experience of the process of registering trade marks (in this country and abroad), dealing with oppositions, invalidity actions, litigation, licensing M&A support work and the related legal issues;
- an enthusiasm for IP and a business focused approach; and
- contentious and non contentious work in IP.
